Opening of the wine tourism season
April 2024
April 2024
The Egg Hunt on Sunday April 14 was a first for Laydis Vineyards. It marks the start of the wine tourism season which offers different experiences to visitors to the estate from May to October inclusive.
From the classic visit to one including a tasting of the best vintages of Château Roc de Calon, you will discover our century-old family property in the heart of the Montagne Saint-Emilion appellation (Gironde).
In fact, Vignobles Laydis organized an egg hunt on Sunday April 14 to the delight of young and old. This morning brought joy and smiles to 11 parents and 12 children who came to spend some time in the heart of our estate.
Under bright sunshine, the morning got off to a flying start with our 12 young detectives, all eager to discover the treasures hidden in the vineyards of Château Roc de Calon. In search of the excellent chocolates of the Chocolaterie Maelig, our little explorers explored the rows of vines, discovering a total of 60 hidden eggs! The opportunity for young and old to discover our area in a different and fun way. After half an hour of searching, the children managed to get their hands on all the eggs!
To continue this momentum and share the history of Vignobles Laydis, where each bottle tells a story several generations old, we invited our guests to a tour of the cellar. It is here that Thomas Laydis, owner of the vineyard, shared the key stages in the development of our wines, the history of our different vintages, but above all, the deep attachment of our family to this area steeped in history.
To convey this with a tasteful touch, we offered grape juice to the children and the tasting of two of our emblematic vintages to the parents: Château Roc de Calon 2020 and Daylis 2021. A perfect conclusion to a morning in the heart of our vineyards.
Congratulations to our young detectives who discovered 60 eggs, and thanks again to the parents who accompanied them. These shared moments are the very heart of our passion for viticulture, a passion that has been enriched for more than a century within Vignobles Laydis.
