Innovation, color and summer: Summer, Solène Debiès and Like Fire!
Light, fresh and fruity, we’re delighted to present or re-present Summer from Château Roc de Calon! A 100% Merlot that’s easy to drink and practical to take anywhere thanks to its screw cap.
To celebrate the release of this new cuvée, we decided to make our mark with an innovative, colorful and summery label. For this, we called on the talented illustrator Solène Debiès.
And to add even more novelty, we teamed up with Ludo & Corentin, founders of Like Fire, to create a playlist available on Spotify and Deezer!
An inspiring illustrator
Solène Debiès, born in Brest, is an artist and illustrator who has been passionate about drawing since childhood. We discovered her on Instagram, and she won us over not only with her talent and professionalism, but also with her inspiring background and varied sources of inspiration. “For me, drawing is a way to have fun, to dream, to express my feelings of the moment. And I love colors! “she says. Her many travels, particularly in Asia, have also enriched her creative universe, which is reflected in her vibrant works full of life.
The Summer label: a challenge brilliantly met
The initial brief for the Summer label was clear: color, warmth, simplicity and originality. We wanted a label that was eye-catching, fresh and vibrant, in the image of our wine. Solène immediately understood our vision and rose to the challenge! “I appreciated the fact that you gave me a lot of freedom. I felt you trusted my inspiration, and that’s how I work. On a personal level, I enjoy wine, and the idea of creating a label for Summer, which is a light summer wine, but with character, immediately motivated me! “, she says.
The creative process
Creating a label like this is a long and painstaking process. Solène explained the steps involved: “First, I listened to what you liked about my previous creations. Then I tasted Summer and was inspired by its flavors and aromas. I proposed several pencil sketches, one of which was approved by the whole team. I was then able to work on the color moods and make a few modifications until I had the final label. The whole project took about a month. “Among her artistic inspirations, Solène cites Matisse, a major twentieth-century painter, for his round, full forms and the serenity they radiate.
A luminous end result
Solène is delighted with the final result: “It’s the perfect red wine for an aperitif with friends, or for a summer meal with grilled meats! I fell in love with Summer thanks to its light yet deep, fruity character, which is just what I like! I think the label is bright and serene, and really makes you want to share the moment, I really like it! Go for it! “.
Solène Debiès’ label is an invitation to enjoy summer with lightness and conviviality. Thanks again to her for her work and artistic vision, which have brought Château Roc de Calon’s Summer spirit to life. With this collaboration, Vignobles Laydis hopes to attract new consumers in search of freshness and novelty.
An innovative musical experience
In the spirit of innovation, we collaborated with the talented duo Corentin & Ludo, founders of Like Fire, to create a special playlist, available on Spotify and Deezer. It’s yet another way of enriching the sensory experience around our Summer cuvée, by combining the pleasures of wine and music. This playlist of over 2h30 of electro, funk and disco tracks can be accessed by scanning the QR Code on the back of the bottle, on the back label.
